WASP SCHOOL HOLIDAY TENNIS CAMP

Event description

Join us for the inaugural WASP School Holidays Tennis Camp, brought to you by Weipa Town Authority.

This camp is a fun filled, skill based program run by Tennis Australia Coaches, in partnership with Tennis Australia and the ANZ Hot Shots. No tennis experience is necessary, just a willingness to give it a go.

Activities include interactive tennis, field and multi-sports and may include swimming at the Weipa Aquatic Centre. (Note that kids attending must have their swimmers, towel, sunscreen and a change of clothes. Our lifeguards will have the kids undertake a basic swimming test to ensure competency. Unfortunately if the child is unable to meet the requirements of this swim test, they will be unable to participate in this activity however other activity options will be available for those children not wanting to swim).

What to bring:

A packed lunch with ice packs in lunch bag (note there is no access to fridges)
Water Bottle
Brimmed Hat
Closed in running shoes
Swimming Togs/Towel/Change of clothes

8:30 - 9:00 Sign In / Mini Court Activities
 
9:00 - 9:15 Rules, Role Call, Groupings
 
9:15 - 10:15 Mutiple Tennis Activities/Games
 
10:15 - 10:45 Morning Break/Snack
 
10:45 - 12:00 Field/Tennis Activity
 
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch Break (half day people sign in/out)
 
1:00 - 2:00 Tennis Activity/Games
 
2:00 - 3:30 Swimming at the Weipa Town Pool (conditional on a basic swimming competency test)
(non swimmers will complete dry activity at the WASP)
 
3:30 - 4:00 Afternoon Break/Snack
 
4:00 - 4:30 Indoor Activity / Pick Up Time

Please also note that children will be able to take breaks as required. Full supervision is provided.
